Some duties included management of all communications to the Indigenous Filmmaking community for submissions, promotion of the event and securing talent (musicians and dancers) for the night's events.

Theater

Theater from the Four Directions

Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center and Trinity Repertory Company collaboration.

 

One of the first productions in theater for Miss Ryan began while she was employed at Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center, during a collaboration with the museum and Trinity Repertory Company.  Duties included performing on stage, assisting with casting and production elements.

The Buz'Gem Blues

A project that began as a festival of plays named "Theater From the Four Directions" in 2001, directly resulted in two full productions of two plays from that festival which Miss Ryan worked independently on after leaving the Museum in 2002. This work included the full scale, regular season production of "The Buz'Gem Blues" at Trinity Repertory Company in 2005 as a liaison for the playwright Drew Hayden Taylor.

Grandchildren of the Buffalo Soldiers

"Grandchildren of the Buffalo Soldiers" national touring production was a collaboration between the Penumbra Theatre and Trinity Repertory Company and ran through February of 2006.

Television Show

"Native Time"

My production company partnered with a start up in the Los Angeles area to co-produce the first Native American News Magazine program on television in California.  Duties included:  finalizing the treatment of the show, training the host, writing the scripts, commissioning the music, securing the guests, wardrobe and producing the segments.

 

The show included the first on camera Native media coverage of events including the First Americans in the Arts awards show at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
